Welcome to Laawu Wellsters, where you can combine a sensual paddling adventure with a unique experience of a lifetime in the stunning river scenery of Strömfors Ironworks.
We offer you the opportunity to experience the ultimate nature-based adventure, combining paddling, adventure accommodation in a natural pearl, the peace of the evening, the magic of the night, the exhilaration of the morning and the adventures of the day into one harmonious whole.
PADDLING AND ACCOMMODATION
Your day's adventure begins with a paddle in the sheltered landscapes of the Kymijoki River. In a canoe you will enjoy the magnificent nature and the peace and quiet of the water.
You can choose to paddle a longer route to the Saarela Nature Reserve or head straight to Laawu Wellsters, where you can paddle for about three kilometres.
Once you arrive at the private island, the ferry-built Laawu, you can settle down in your lively lodge and explore the small private island, concentrating on the sounds of nature.
EVENING ATMOSPHERE AND MAGICAL NIGHT
As evening falls, you can prepare a meal on the fire platform, weather permitting. You will also have at your disposal trangia and the basic tools needed to prepare a camping meal.
Perhaps you'll take an evening swim before spending the evening on the Laawu terrace, enjoying the scenery and peace.
As night falls over the island, spend some time outside watching the stars and listening to the sounds of nature until you curl up in clean sheets and allow yourself to drift off into a restful sleep.
RELAXING MORNING AND A JOURNEY HOME
The first rays of sun in the morning will gently wake you up for a new day.
Step out of Laawu and take a deep breath of fresh morning air. Start your day with a refreshing and therapeutic morning swim before preparing breakfast.
Sit on the terrace and eat breakfast while admiring the scenery, the sun slowly rising above the horizon and the birds starting their day with a cheerful song.
After a peaceful morning, you can relax on the terrace or in the warm bed of the Laawu.
You'll have plenty of time to explore the kayaking routes and the surrounding nature until you return your canoe to the Wellsters service point.
LAAWU WELLSTERS - "NATURE'S LIVING ROOM"
Built on the bank and raft of the Kymijoki River, Laawu Wellsters is a cosy, trendy and ecological place to stay where it's easy to stop and focus on the silence and sounds of nature.
Located along our canoeing route, the experience is equipped with two solar panels for ecological electricity generation and there is also an eco-toilet on the island.
The Laawu sleeps two people and is available from 16:00 on the day of arrival until 12:00 on the day of departure.
The canoe will be available at 12 noon and handover by 14:00 on the day of departure.
